Glucosamine sulfate is a DMOAD, that is a disease-modifying osteoarthritis drug. Indications: Osteoarthritis
Dose: 1500 mg per day maintenance, can give twice that much for the first two to three months for induction.
Side effects: gi discomfort equal to placebo; trivial blood glucose elevation
Drug interactions: Extreme caution with coumadin
