Web browser cookies

The Website may use “cookies” to enhance your experience with the Website. IM4US may also use cookies to measure aggregate web statistics, such as collecting the number of Users to the Website, the number of repeat Users and the most popular webpages, and for other purposes. IM4US does not use cookies to track User activity on an individual basis. You may choose to set your web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you do so, however, some parts of the Website may not function properly.

IM4US collects personally identifiable information (such as names, email addresses, city/state of residence) from Users when they voluntarily provide such information to us, including, for example, when Users sign up to become members of IM4US, or when Users make a financial donation to IM4US.

How IM4US Uses the Information that It Collects

IM4US uses Users’ personal information to better understand how Users use the Website so that IM4US can improve the Website and its offerings. IM4US also uses Users’ personal information for the purpose for which the Users provided the information, in other words, to provide requested information, to process a donation, or to otherwise fulfill a request. If you provide IM4US with your email address and/or mailing address, IM4US will add you to its email and/or mailing list, as applicable, and may contact you with information that IM4US thinks will be of interest to you. If at any time you wish to stop receiving communications from IM4US, please follow the unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of any email IM4US sends you, or send IM4US an email at im4us.org at gmail.com and ask to be removed from IM4US’s distribution lists.
In addition, certain personally identifiable information of IM4US members is included in IM4US’s Membership Directory, which is made available to all verified IM4US members. Members are urged to use the information regarding other IM4US members for appropriate purposes, but IM4US is not responsible for the misuse of any member’s personal information by other members. If at any time, you wish to have your personal information removed from the IM4US Membership Directory, please email IM4US at im4us.org at gmail.com.

How IM4US Protects User Information

IM4US adopts appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to help protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, but IM4US cannot guarantee that your information is 100% secure. Moreover, IM4US has no control over how members may use the personal information of other members that is made available in the IM4US Membership Directory. Your credit card information is stored in a manner that is PCI compliant.

Sharing Personal Information

IM4US shares members’ personally identifiable information (including name, email address, city/state, professional role, but never credit card information) with other IM4US members. IM4US does not share personally identifiable information about Users with any other third parties unless required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws or to respond to a court order, subpoena, or search warrant.
IM4US may also share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personally identifiable information regarding Users with third parties. IM4US may use third party service providers to help it operate its business and the Website or administer activities on IM4US’s behalf, such as collecting donations on IM4US’s behalf. IM4US may share User information with these third parties for those limited purposes but IM4US requires that such third parties protect the confidentiality of your information and use it for no other purpose.

These websites and services have their own privacy policies. This Privacy Policy covers only information collected through the use of IM4US’s Website. In addition, IM4US does not currently respond to web browser “do not track” signals.

Compliance with Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act
